School orientation — Start of the school year
Start of school, Aug. 24, 2026
The first day of school for grades 2-10 is Aug. 24.
Students in grades 2-7 will begin the day in their homeroom with their homeroom teacher at 8:30 a.m. The regular class schedule will follow. Parents are welcome to accompany their children.
Students in grades 8-10 will gather in the school hall at 8:50 a.m. — parents are welcome to join. During the first period, the new upper primary division will be available for tours.
The first day of school for 1st grade is Wednesday, Aug. 26. Meetings with parents and students will be held Aug. 24 and 25; parents will receive a formal invitation.
Grades 1-4 — building on the Sjónarhóll school grounds
Grades 5-7 — building 1, former upper primary division
Grades 8-10 — building 4, new upper primary division
