Hólaleikar Games 2025

Hólaleikar Games 2025

The Hólaleikar games and sports festival will take place on May 7 and 8.

The games are based on Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences, featuring diverse activities where every student can excel at something, but no single student can master everything. Students working in teams are strongly encouraged to foster a positive atmosphere and build strong team unity. They should respect the talents and abilities of each team member, as everyone plays an essential role in the team's success. Encouragement and praise are vital components, along with understanding and tolerance. Students will tackle various challenges and activities in mixed-age groups/teams at 16 different stations. Each team consists of 15 to 19 randomly assigned students from grades 1-10. Each team is led by appointed team captains who are students from grades 9 and 10. School staff members will serve as station managers, overseeing activities that take place both indoors and outdoors.
